“Friends” Love Bomb Too…

Have you ever experienced an associate’s flattery so endearing that you wonder where they've been all along? Typically, the cooler and more well-rounded an individual is, the longer it takes to connect with like-minded people because both parties most likely move with caution when it comes to personal connections. Every once in a while, you can meet a stranger and spark a quick, close friendship, but what initially feels like a friendship built on commonality, respect, or maybe even admiration is really just a slow buildup of resentment.

Friendships like this usually look like one person calling the other their “best friend” very quickly. In many instances, it can look like a friend having something their “friend” is inspired by, like a certain lifestyle, a home, a car, a business, or opportunities, or it could be as simple as your personality and the way other people love you, and your confidence. It's important to know this person is most likely not jealous, but inspired by this season in your life, because they have lost appreciation for their very own similar blessings. Their season might look different at the time you inspire them, but in reality, they are capable of all the dreams their heart desires.

You’d be surprised how many beautiful women don't begin to feel confident until they have a certain audience or are in the room with people they thought they never had proximity to, even though they have always been amazing and you saw it from the beginning.  It’ll start with them liking what they see in you, then wanting some version of that for themselves. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good thing to inspire your friends to want more. The tell-all moment will be the time when your season changes for the worse, and you actually need their support- you know, a real FRIEND. They then will use that moment to say, “you’re trauma dumping onto them,” or that you're being needy.  You may even trigger them to heal from something they haven't quite dealt with from a past event in their life.

Take accountability at that time; just because you're hurting doesn't mean your “friends’” feelings are not valid, but after you sincerely apologize, it's important to know you still need that “bestie” while rebuilding your life after abuse, separation, relocation, and even threats of custody concerns that you knew wouldn't hold up; but you only need that “bestie” if they're going to remind you of the version of you they were inspired by and admired so much in the first place! Again, their feelings can be valid, and that might feel like enough reason to feel bad when you care, but in reality you might need a real friend while battling a real-life trial; you are human and want firm support.

Real friendships only grow when stretched. Good friends, especially someone you’d call a best friend, are expected to be a friend and to be there through hard times like breakups, losing loved ones, or losing a job. Friendships can't thrive just when it's time for girls' nights, content, and trips. Friends need nurturing stages too. Love Bombing is not exclusive to a romantic partner; you have to be careful who you call a friend.
