Real friendships only grow when stretched. Good friends, especially someone you’d call a best friend, are expected to be a friend and to be there through hard times like breakups, losing loved ones, or losing a job. Friendships can't thrive just when it's time for girls' nights, content, and trips. Friends need nurturing stages too. Love Bombing is not exclusive to a romantic partner; you have to be careful who you call a friend.

So how did I get here? The obvious: dating with intention. I also allowed God to guide me with even more intention; I listened to God, and I never second-guessed myself or my conscience by doing things that didn’t feel good to my spirit. I stayed true to myself by not doing things I knew did not work for me before on the journey of wanting marriage.  

Putting titles like “Fiance’ (in my past), CEO & founder, and the prized grand-daughter and even MOM” on a pedestal like trophies, while my purpose for who God wants me to be was slowly slipping through the cracks.

People love to beat on their chest and say what’s THEIRS, but God never intended for us to do anything alone… in the Old Testament, the first thing he gave Adam was Eve, the New Testament, he gave his only begotten son, then he even gave us the holy spirit… it was NEVER GIVING ALONE!!!

The real lesson is that there were no losses. I won and overcame my fear of doing this thing called life as a single black woman with two young daughters on the autism spectrum. Heavy? Yes! However, impossible it was not. I moved forward regardless of the outside noise, and it turned out that some people weren’t unsupportive; maybe they just wanted better for me.

The most important point from this short blog is that consistency in prayer will result in a closer relationship with God and fewer problems from a lack of faith. Once you realize that God will provide all that is needed, the stress from your problems gets solved. God will never forsake us, as this scripture says. When we come to Him, he is always willing to take us in and restore new life in us. Keep faith, and know where your strength comes from!
